Sea Sounds and a Familiar Tune: A Half-Day Walk from Esumi Station
Walk from JR Esumi Station to Children’s Song Park, overlooking the Karekinada coast and green Esuzaki island. A relaxed half day in Susami, Wakayama, with room for lunch and the return train; no rock scrambling or island crossing required.
From the station to the park, with time for the sea
SLOW TRAVEL NOTES
More Time with the Sea, Fewer Stops to Tick Off
Blue sea, a green island, and a familiar tune that slows your steps. Children’s Song Park in Susami is a coastal place to enjoy the scenery around Esuzaki. Rather than racing between distant attractions, give one stretch of sea your time.
Start at JR Esumi Station. Wakayama’s official guide puts the park about 20 minutes away on foot. The 10:00–14:00 outline is editorial, not a train timetable. Check both trains first and leave space for the park, lunch and your walk back.

EDITORIAL NOTE
More Time with the Sea, Fewer Stops to Tick Off
The official prefectural guide describes a park at Esuzaki with ten children’s songs, free admission and a walk of about 20 minutes from Esumi or Mirozu Station. Esuzaki is also among Susami’s eight scenic sites. This half-day route does not attempt to connect all eight.
